  After years of the same, though slightly deteriorating prescription, "Dr" Giardina decided that 40+ years of astigmatism really didn't exist anymore. I didn't notice at first since I wasn't getting new glasses, just an updated prescription in case I wanted to get contact lenses. When I noticed, I asked for a copy of the previous prescription he had done the year before. I wanted to see the difference so that I, as an adult, could make an informed medical decision.
  
  What a surprise - I was refused. The woman at the desk said that the doctor had to approve the release of the information; no problem. I went back 3 days later and was told that the doctor refused to release the previous prescription. With an office full of patients, I decided not to cause a scene ... maybe I should have. I just left.
  
  When I called back 3 days later, I specifically said that I wanted to confirm that they were refusing to provide me a copy of my medical records AS REQUIRED BY LAW before I filed a complaint with the licensing board. Surprise! Now I could have them.
  
  I picked up the envelope and took a look this morning. The prescription I wanted, the previous one he did ... IS NOT IN THE RECORDS!
  
  This business is either incredibly arrogant or stupid, I'm not sure which. To provide me only partial records for some reason I certainly cannot fathom seems to suggest that he is incompetent with his records or incompetent with his prescriptions. Either way, I suggest finding any other practice for professional care.
